For the past few months I have been saving up for a coffee maker – not just any kind but a coffee maker professional.  I think it is the same as investing in a Kitchen Aid mixer which lasts for generations to come.  My parents have been using their own professional 12 cup coffee maker for 9 years now and that would come to around 7 dollars a year.  So I am not going to waste a penny on the non-pro models no matter how handy or modern they are.  My mind is set on a pro and I believe it can be one of the wisest investments I will ever make.
