What Are Symptoms Of Acid Reflux In Babies?

March 30th, 2009 . by admin

Acid reflux in babies occurs when the acid or stomach contents backs into the baby’s esophagus. Usually this takes place while the baby is eating or shortly thereafter. It can be quite painful to the baby and the crying is incredible. At times, the stomach acid can reach into the baby’s mouth, causing even more discomfort. Many times, the baby will spit up sour milk, another indication of the immature digestive system which shows itself as acid reflux. Babies do not intentionally starve themselves and will respond positively when you are more relaxed, knowing that acid reflux in babies is a possibility but not with all infants.
